NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law’s Sports Squad organized the Monsoon edition of SOLympics on 21st September 2019. This event was conducted to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and friendly competition amongst the students of KPMSOL. Organized on the grounds of CNMS in Vile Parle West, this event saw enthusiastic participation from every batch, from first to fifth years. Four sporting events were organised at the event: cricket, football, basketball, and tug of war. The excitement was palpable in the corridors of KPMSOL during the days leading up to this event. Nearly every student could be seen forming teams, practising for the various sports, and engaging in friendly competition with other students.
This year, the Sports Squad gave fixtures to students to predict the winners of all matches. This resulted in greater enthusiasm and team spirit among all classes. On the day of the event; cricket, football, and basketball matches were conducted simultaneously. Each match attracted a sizable audience, with everyone cheering on for their classmates. Even torrential rain in the second half of the day could not dampen the spirits of the participants.
For the first time, a football match for girls was held. This received great support from the students and inspired more participation from girls. Tug of War was the final event for the day. Spirits were at an all-time high with teams fighting tooth and nail to clinch the title. Sports Squad’s first event of the year was a resounding success, thanks to every student at KPMSOL.
